In reply to rory dean. Good point Rory. A bit like Lost, The X Files and a bunch of other TV shows and things: they run them into the ground and then finish them up in a blaze of hype (which usually never justifies the ending anyway) - sometimes, Hollywood doesn't know when enough is enough.

Solid review and agree with most of your analysis. I was actually surprised by this installment in the franchise. Of course there were tremendous 'holes' in everything from plot to character development (as you refer to) and while you and others commented on the 'sameness quality' I must admit fans and even remote fans would most likely appreciate this film. You have to ask yourself, are they really going to keep going? It is kind of like most series where they never end (well, most series, Deadwood on HBO not withstanding) until they've run on far too long to be interesting and the characters, story, plot and just about everything else stumbles clumsily along the rental aisle or online queue. I'm not sure I'd rate this one as high as you did but it wasn't as dismal as say the last Alien flick. cheers->

I was so terribly bored with this movie and so was my friend who went with me. It had none of the magic of the first one.

I agree with you on this – it isn't a masterpiece, but if you know what you're letting yourself in for it's great fun.

I think I have a higher tolerance for enjoying a film many people find to be fairly shite, (hell, I class Armageddon as one of my favourite films of all time!) which is why I can cut films like Predators so much slack. I tend to rate a film based on how much I enjoyed it, while my reviews tend to focus on just why one shouldn't enjoy it - which is why our ratings would be different I think. Funny, i agree with almost everything you said here (well, ok, especially the negative stuff) and still my calculation comes to 4/10. i found it a pale copy in every way of the other predator movies. Worse script, acting, special effects, action… Inside of 10 minutes i was praying the soundtrack wouldn't be too loud so i could at least get some sleep. But there you go, if we were all the same, everyone would be chasing Miss D. Still, very well-written review, as we've come to expect from you, brother.
