Funnily enough, as I was watching this, I was thinking of you, Al. I wouldn't mind seeing your take on this one over at the Bar None at some point! Given the central premise, it's probably closer to home for you than it is to me….

Ha ha I guess that's another vote for Denzel's work here! As I mentioned earlier, I think he's excellent, although he DOES tend to really only be playing himself these days more often than not, which tends to lend each successive performance a "been there, done that" feeling. He really needs to change it up a bit. But yes, Flight is a terrific film.

Seems to be the growing theme of these comments – whether Flight woulda worked without Denzel. I think Zemeckis would have found another actor capable of the same performance (Tom Hanks?) in any case, so i don't know if the argument stands up, but I see your point.

LOL, yeah, people with substance abuse issues are gonna look at the opening five minutes and wonder why they're not banging a hot stewardess! Ha ha!!

I agree about the marketing on this film – it missed the mark down here in Australia too.

Definitely worth a look, Ruth! Denzel makes the film his own.
