Ha ha, yeah, DeNiro was great in this – never saw his role coming, to be honest, but I was glad he made an appearance – and the film itself was very good. For me, the "Science oven" scene stands out as one of the funniest of 2013….

The movie seemed to have a lot of backlash, but I really had a great time with it. A lot of very funny moments and that performance by De Niro, however small, was incredible.

Wow! That's a surprise to me mate! I thought this was a darkly hilarious film, and was worth the journey to see how the complex plot unwound…. and Cooper and Lawrence were solid (if not entirely deserving of their kudos this year!)….

I couldn't even finish this.. I found it way too boring, with terrible acting from Cooper and Lawrence…One of the most overrated of 2013. But it had Louis CK.. so I guess that's something.

In reply to rtm. Hoping to see Blue Jasmine this week sometime, Ruth, so I'll know who you're talking about! I think JLaw did a great job here, but was it Oscar worthy? Probably not, no. And you know what I'd love to see? Christian Bale in an out-and-out comedy - something opposite Melissa McCarthy or Kevin James. If he can pull THAT off, the dude will be a legend forever.

I quite enjoyed this one Rodney. That 'science oven', the Live & Let Die scene and the opening toupee scenes are hilarious! I laughed a lot watching this. Bale's such a hoot here, that guy is phenomenal both in body transformation and of course his acting. The comedic parts really work though narrative it could've had more depth. As much as I enjoyed Lawrence here, I wish Sally Hawkins from Blue Jasmine would win Best Supporting Actress though. My recent post February 2014 Blind Spot: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)
