I couldn't have put it any better.
As much as I absolutely adore Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, the sequel was rather underwhelming. Though I wasn't really disappointed when I saw it because honestly, I was just really excited about seeing the characters again. The one main thing that bothered me though was that even though all the characters had a fairly good relationship, they didn't work with it as much which I guess is sorta the whole thing of the movie, but some of the characters didn't even feel like they were part of the movie.
Earl, Manny, Brent and even Tim just sorta felt like background characters. Like they were just part of the props. They had no intended purpose in this movie which is heart renting especially seeing as they're a cast of amazingly colourful characters. And let's not forget about Sam, my favourite character from the whole movie. Her character especially had so much potential with her fiery, yet compassionate attitude and independence and yet she was so down played. Especially her relationship with Flint. I would have loved seeing more interactions between the two whether it's a hug or just a pat on the back. What's the use of having two characters in a relationship if you're not planning on using that to your advantage during emotional or dramatic scenes. Hell they should've done that will all the characters. The whole point may be Flint unintentionally writing off his friends, but we see him very rarely at least try to communicate with them.

I wouldn't have minded the plot as much if they played more with the characters, maybe focused the movie on one of the other characters and not Flint *COUGHsamCOUGH*

Excuse the long comment, guess I just had a lot to say.

LOL, yeah, this film is filled with food-related puns. Some work, some don't, but this is one film I won't need to see again in a hurry.
