I found it a pale, pseudo-intellectual rip off of Lynch's Mulholland Drive. Drive was such a beautiful film, but definitely the exception in Refn's career. I never got to OGF, as reviews I'd read were decidedly mixed – I think Refn is definitely an acquired taste, and I'm not sure I'm quite prepared to acquire it. Still, I will always try to support directors who dare (us and themselves) to try different things. They might not always work, but great art isn't always appreciated by everyone…. I almost swore off Refn for like after Only Good Forgives, but this one was so much better. Weird, and at times way too slow, but much better.
