Blake, once touted as the &#8220;next Mel Gibson&#8221; for his dark good looks, suffered permanent brain damage from a<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jon_Blake_%28actor%29\"> car accident sustained whilst driving home from the set of <em>The Lighthorsemen<\/em> in 1986<\/a>, and ever since required round-the-clock care.
